Fox Creek to “Make the Garden Blush” in 2021

Fox Creek Grenache Rosé to launch on tap with sustainable KeyKegs in the Garden of Unearthly Delights 2021

Sponsor and exclusive wine supplier to The Garden of Unearthly Delights, McLaren Vale’s Fox Creek Wines, established a dedicated wine bar as part of The Garden’s 2020 season “Get Lost”.  The 2021 season will see a brand new wine “Fox Creek Grenache Rosé” launched on tap across Garden bars with the support of KeyKeg technology.

Fox Creek, together with KeyKeg’s Australian reseller VI Packaging and with the support of the Garden, will see that rosé flows in the 2021 Season.

While Rosé can be made from a wide array of red grape varietals, the Fox Creek Rosé is spoilt with Grenache, a varietal often considered the jewel in McLaren Vale’s crown.  Grenache thrives in McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate, delivering fruit of plentiful concentration and flavour. Minimal skin contact during fermentation delivers a vivid yet seductive blush, a beautiful pastel pink, which will fit perfectly alongside the vibrancy of the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

KeyKeg works on a patented Bag-in-Keg principle, based on a specially developed laminated inner bag inside a high-tech PET container. This two-compartment system safeguards the quality and shelf life of the wine by providing 100% protection from exposure to oxygen and unlike conventional kegs, ensuring the high-quality wine is never exposed to the propellant gas.

KeyKeg provides many sustainability benefits.  Not only are they light weight, minimising transport energy, each KeyKeg is recyclable and contain at least 30% recycled material.

KeyKeg is the latest high tech wine preservation and serving system adopted by Fox Creek Wines in the Garden. Together with an Enomatic, Argon gas system, and  temperature controlled Vintec wine fridges, Fox Creek has pulled out all stops to ensure their super premium range of McLaren Vale wines, including Langton’s Classified Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz, are optimally served in Australia’s most vibrant and dynamic outdoor festival precinct.

“We are excited to be launching our brand new premium Fox Creek Grenache Rosé at the 2021 Garden of Unearthly Delights. KeyKeg technology is ideally suited to this wine style, the surroundings and type of event. Further it supports our commitment to the quality delivery of our super premium wines, while supporting the winery’s ongoing quest toward sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment.” James Carman (Sales and Marketing Manager at Fox Creek Wines)

“We are thrilled to be bringing KeyKeg technology to The Garden of Unearthly Delights and to support Fox Creek in delivering their premium Grenache Rosé in a sustainable way.  While barely seen in the Australian market presently, sustainability benefits together with the ease of delivery and implementation, will see KeyKeg become an important packaging option, particularly for the events and On-Premise sectors of the market.” Kate Salway (Sales and Supply Manager at VI Packaging Pty Ltd)

Fox Creek Wines has been a long-term supporter and exclusive wine supplier to the Garden of Unearthly Delights.  The addition of a dedicated wine bar, located on the North Eastern bank of the creek, has seen a wider range of varietals and wine styles on offer.  The Fox Creek Grenache Rosé will further enhance the already diverse Garden food and beverages scene.

The art of fine wine is not limited to what is inside the bottle. Supporting the premium Fox Creek wine bar, local artists were engaged to repurpose and craft old wine barrels into contemporary lighting, patio tables and the more casual lean bar that runs parallel to and overlooking the “Fox Creek”.

In addition to the wine bar and in keeping with long time sponsorship of the Arts, Fox Creek has again commissioned Adelaide sculptor and set designer, Bianka Kennedy, to install a contemporary art piece in the otherwise dry creek bed that runs through Australia’s most vibrant and dynamic outdoor festival precinct. Taking inspiration from the creek running through the Fox Creek Wines Cellar Door property, Bianka has positioned deconstructed old wine barrels (oak staves) to create the sense of a rolling, flowing waterway.
